Abstract
The past sins of a criminal who served his sentence are not erased, both formally and socially. Certain restrictions are imposed on him, and some negative social labels continue to stick to him. These negative responses may encourage him to return to crime. A central approach in the Jewish law may reduce the likelihood of recidivism.
