Abstract
מצחף המקרא הידוע בשם 'כתר ארם צובא', שהתפרסם בזכות אמינותו ודיוקו וגם בשל גלגוליו לאורך ההיסטוריה, עומד במרכז המאמר. המחבר דן בתקופת הימצאותו של הכתר במצרים ומנסה לגלות אם אמנם נחשב הכתר כבר בתקופה זו לנוסח מופתי של המקרא. הוא אף מברר מי משתמש בו, אילו קהלים הותרו לעיין בו, והאם היה לו כבר אז כינוי קבוע ומקובל. מחקרו מתבסס על עשר תעודות גניזה שיש להן זיקה ל'כתר'.
