קרים מיוחדים שנערכו ב2005 על התקשורת בדמוקרטיה הישראלית מלמדים על הבדלים מרתקים בין עמדות הציבור ובין עמדות העיתונאים בנוגע לאמון במוסדות המדינה, ועל הבדלים בתפיסת הפער בין המצוי לרצוי בתקשורת.
