Abstract
המאמר סוקר את הגורמים שהביאו לחקיקת חוק ביטוח סיעוד בשנת 1988, יעדיו של החוק, תנאי זכאות ומספר הזכאים, השפעת החוק על נטל הטיפול המשפחתי, ההשלכות על הטיפול המוסדי, ספקי השירותים, מערכת היחסים בין העובדים ללקוחות, פיקוח ובקרה על עבודת המטפלים ואופי כח העבודה בתחום.
