המאמר סוקר את המכרזים האקדמים להוראת מדעי היהדות בחבר המדינות אשר הוקמו ע"י "מרכז צייס". מתואר שתוף הפעולה בין האקדמיה לקהילה. פרופיל הלומדים בתורנויות וטפוח פעילות חוץ אקדמית בשפה רוסית המבוצעות "במרכז צייס"
