בזמני מלחמה או סכסוך מזוין ילדים הם אחת הקבוצות החשופות ביותר לפגיעה מינית: במדור "מה חדש בעולם המחקרי", המחברות בוחנות היבטים מרכזיים של סוגיה זו: אונס ופגיעה מינית בילדים ככלי מלחמה; הסיכון המוגבר לאלימות מינית בתוך הקהילה לאחר סכסוך מזוין וההשלכות של פגיעה מינית בהקשר של סכסוך כזה.
