Abstract
עליית ירושלים לגדולה באיסלאם במאות י"ב-י"ג הינה תופעה חריגה שהשאירה את חותמה. בתקופת מסעי הצלב לא הפכה העיר למרכז אך הארועים חיזקו את מעמדה בהירארכיית המקומות הקדושים.
