Abstract
Ya'akov Levinson was a banker in addition to his close involvement in every aspect of the economy. Thus, it is only natural that the Forum bearing his name deals with issues of finance and banking which now, perhaps more than ever, are of central interest to the public. In the April 1995 issue of the Quarterly appeared our previous symposium on the Histadrut: The shrinking of the Histadrut and its attempt at rejuvenation. In preparation for one-day seminars we commission special papers from experts and then have discussions based on those papers. Here two papers will be presented: the first was prepared jointly by Dr. Oved Yosha of the Eitan Berglas School of Economics of Tel Aviv University and Dr. Yishay Yafeh of the Economics Department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. This paper is discussed by Dr. Yossi Zeira and Dr. Danny Tsiddon. The second paper was written by Dr. Meir Heth of the Law School of the College of Administration. It is discussed by Dr. Avi Ben-Bassat as well as by Dr. Eran Yashiv. Following there is a general discusssion in which Prof. Amir Barnea, Prof. Yitzhak Swary and Dr. David Klein take part.
