Abstract
3,5‐Dihydroxy‐4‐phenylisoxazole, which is described here, is the first known 3,5‐dihydroxy derivative of isoxazole. Its unusual physical and chemical properties were studied. The tautomeric structures and the methylation products are elucidated.
