A microfluidic 2×2 optical switch

A novel 2×2 microfluidic-based optical switch is demonstrated. The device is made of an optically clear elastomer, using soft lithography, and having insertion loss smaller than 1dB, extinction ratio of 20dB and switching speed less than 20 milliseconds.
