Abstract
The linear instability of an infinite ice front overlying a passive ocean is demonstrated for the case where the ice concentration satisfies a simple condition far from the front. The long wave analytical estimates are confirmed numerically for an ice dispersivity that is not too small, but a very large dispersivity stabilizes the front.-from Authors
