Abstract
Two new genera and four new species of Australian tenuipalpid mites are described and illustrated. A key to all 18 known Australian species is provided, along with a review of their distribution, host plants, biology and damage. The two new genera are Australopalpus and Lisaepalpus. The new species are: Australopalpus alphitoniae, Lisaepalpus smileyae, Tenuipalpus toowongi, and Ultratenuipalpus bunyai. Names of known taxa are: Brevipalpus californicus, B. lewisi, B. obovatus, B. phoenicis, Dolichotetranychus australianus, D. floridanus, Macfarlaniella queenslandica, Raoiella australica, Tegopalpus conicus, Tenuipalpus banksiae, T. grevilleae, T. mansoniculus, T. pacificus, and T. womersleyi.
