Abstract

Levels of abscisic acid (ABA) were determined in citrus flower organs in the course of development. The concentration of ABA rose dramatically in the style, but not in the ovary, towards anthesis, reaching levels of 3500 ng/g dry matter. ABA appears to play a regulatory role related to the biological function of the style.
