Abstract

Absorption, emission, excitation spectra and quantum efficiencies of luminescence of lead were obtained in germanate, borate and phosphate glasses. Decay time was measured for fluorescence of lead in germanate glass. The amount of covalency of bonds between lead and the glass matrix is calculated from the nephelauxetic effect.
