Abstract
The absorption spectrum of the pyrene excimer in a single crystal has been measured. The spectrum is similar to that obtained in solution. The polarization of the absorption peaks in the crystal was found to be similar to that of the excimer fluorescence emission. The overlap between the excimeric emission and absorption was calculated using Förster's relations. This overlap determines the interactions between excimers at high oncentrations.
