Abstract

This article presents a summary of a two-phased World Bank study of the Belarus farming sector. First, an agricultural policy update was prepared. Then a farm-level survey was designed and implemented, providing a detailed examination of changes in the three main components of the farming sector - large farm enterprises, households of farm employees, and independent private farms. This article describes the conclusion of the policy update and the survey findings, supplemented by recommendations for future reforms for the Belarussian agricultural sector.
