Abstract
Tris(triphenylphosphine)methylcobalt;(Ph3P)3CoCH3, reacts with diphenyl-acetylene to give α-methylstilbene as the sole addition product.(Ph3P)3CoCH3 can be used as an alkylation reagent in ethers or in aromatic solvents.
