Abstract
Various amide derivatives of o- and p-trimethylsilvlbenzoic acid, p-trimethylsilylphenylacetic acid, and p-trimethylsilylhydrocinnamic acid were prepared starting from the corresponding acids. Preliminary pharmacological evaluation of seven compounds showed that they had some activity as central nervous system depressants; p-trimethylsilylphenylacetylurea was more active than its analog without silicon.
