Abstract
An adiabatic approximation for time-dependent constants of the motion is introduced and illustrated by several examples. Applications to collision theory, including non-adiabatic transitions, are discussed. Stability considerations indicate that particular constants ( constraints) can play a dominant role in the long-time evolution of the system.
