An interactive-integrative approach to educational interventions aimed at reducing HIV infection

Abstract

Adolescents are reviewed as a unique target population for educational interventions to reduce the risk of HIV infection. The principles of integrative/interactive interventions in sex education, and their implementation are applied to an educational program aimed at reducing the risk of HIV infection among adolescents and youth. The content of the program: To Know and To Live: Preventing AIDS While Preserving SEX, its objectives, methods, processes, and conditions for implementation are described.
