Abstract
Analyses of data obtained under single-collision bulk conditions and from CO2HBr complexes suggest that with complexes ≈80% of the OHproduct accrues via a mechanism wherein repulsive entrance-channel interactions enhance Br-HOCO† c.m. kinetic energy at the expense of HOCO† internal energy. Resonances are described in which H is localized between Br and OCO until the reactive window opens.
