N2 - The time evolution of the amplitudes in most algorithms, using an arbitrary unitary transformation and phase rotations on an arbitrary complex initial amplitude distribution was analyzed. Using first-order linear difference equations an exact solution for the time evolution of the amplitudes under the most general conditions was obtained.
