Abstract
Orbital wave functions for a number of singlet and triplet P and D states of neutral helium have been calculated within the framework of the 'frozen core' approximation. The radial equation has been solved using a matrix method, which leads to analytical wave functions more convenient in many applications than numerical Hartree-Fock orbitals of similar accuracy.
