Abstract
The effect of fibre orientation and the volume fraction on the diffusion of water into unidirectional Kevlar fibre-reinforced epoxy resins is examined. The diffusivity increased with increases in the angle from 0 to 90 degrees. Increasing the volume fraction increased the equilibrium weight gain of water in the composites. Diffusion coefficients of the composite along the fibre and transverse to the fibre were calculated.
