Abstract

The use of formate salts as hydrogen donors in reduction processes is analysed from a technological and economic point of view. Laboratory experiments of a model reaction are presented. A techno-economic comparison of possible large scale applications is made relative to use of bottled hydrogen and to the use of hydrogen generated electrolytically in plant.
