Abstract

The decomposition of sulphotellurate leading to deposition of black elemental tellurium has been utilized for the following analytical tests: detection of elemental tellurium and Te-containing semi-conductors, detection of polysulphide in alkali sulphide, detection of As₂S₃ and As₂O₃, differentiation of Sb₂O₃ and Sb₂O₅, differentiation of tin(II) and tin(IV) hydroxides.
