Abstract

A theoretical analysis of the dissociation of energy-rich triatomic molecules shows that asymmetric dissociation is expected to be the major decay mode. Both experimental and computational (classical trajectories) results for the photofragmentation of Cd(CH3)2 are in accord with the theoretical analysis.
