Abstract

I my short introduction, I will elaborate the special connection between the location and the theme of this meeting of science educators. The beauty and pleasure of understanding reflects most of all the motivation of celebrated scientists. They experience such impact when they reveal the essential meaning of scientific knowledge, the meaning to be shared with the newcomers who join this human endeavour. I will try, however, to refine the general theme by mentioning three types of the subject matter that induce different aspects of interest in science and the desire of its understanding. This goal can be reached through considering scientific knowledge as a special culture, discipline-culture. While speaking in three voices, the corresponding scientific curriculum allows teaching which can cause a special perception of beauty and pleasure of understanding of what is learned in students of wide population, split in three groups of “enlightened”, “practitioners” and “researchers”.
