Abstract
The article focuses on the music "String Quartet Op. 21," by Paul Ben-Heim focusing on its programmatic interpretation preserved by his student Ben-Zion Orgad and his colleague Haim Alexander. Topics discussed include the Ben-Haim in Israel in 1933 after his successful career in Germany as a conductor and composer, the change of name of Ben-Haim from Frankenburger caused by practical considerations, and the four-movement layout to form the quartet such a ternary scherzo and sonata-rondo finale.
