Abstract
Screening for early diagnosis of breast cancer is commonly practiced in developed countries, with the aim of early diagnosis leading to increasing cure rates. In this chapter we discuss the background, the various imaging modalities and findings, the clinical trials that laid the scientific basis for breast cancer screening, and the current recommendations for both high-risk and regular-risk women.
