Abstract

Updated calculations of Λ and Σ hypernuclear production in K^- capture from rest in ¹²C are reviewed and compared to recent data. The π⁺ spectrum measured in the KEK experiment of ¹²C is discussed and an ambiguity in extracting the Σ-nuclear spin-orbit coupling is demonstrated. Further experiments in flight and at rest are suggested to remove the present ambiguity.
