Abstract
Closed-loop deep brain stimulation (DBS) uses ongoing brain activity to trigger stimulation. The two main animal models of parkinsonism are the 6-hydroxydopamine-treated rodent and the 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine-treated nonhuman primate models.
