This chapter will describe an integrative cognitive functional intervention designed to complement pharmacological treatment for children with ADHD. The intervention is theoretically grounded in the World Health Organization model of health implications, the International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health (ICF) (WHO 2001) which explains the bio-psycho-social factors that impede participation and quality of life. The Cog-Fun is an applied cognitive rehabilitation model, which addresses neurocognitive and psycho-social challenges in a real world context. In this chapter we will present this theoretical understanding of ADHD implications, the proposed change mechanisms of the Cog-Fun and research evidence in children with ADHD.
