Abstract
Coherent product vibrational motion is demonstrated in computational studies of barrier dynamics for both gas phase and liquid phase processes. The coherence decays primarily due to intramolecular anharmonicity. Caging by the liquid tends to reduce the initial dephasing. Real time, short pulse, electronic spectroscopy can discern the vibrational coherence.
