Abstract
Ira Sharkansky has made a comment of Rafael Reuveny's analysis regarding the conflict between Palestine and Israel. Reuveny's use of the term colonialism to judge a country's history, which therefore tilts the analysis heavily toward Israel's fault. Sharkansky put much of the onus for years of failure on Palestinian rejection. This rejections finds strength in the ascendance of an aggressive form of Islam. The religious constraints make it difficult for Palestinians to accept anything Israel is to offer, causing the Israeli-Palestinians conflict to go on for a long time. According to Sharkansky, Reuveny does not put a time line on his prediction of colonial demise. The label colonialism might be attractive to those who share an ideology that defines Israel as evil, and it produces a projection of decolonization that is more promising for the Palestinians than is apparent in recent events.
