Abstract

Some theoretical electric quadrupole transition probabilities for 32D-32S and 42D-42S transitions in the sodium and potassium isoelectronic sequences have been published recently by Ali.(1) Despite the apparent agreement in the case of neutral sodium between his results and the experimental values of Hertel and Ross(2) we believe Ali's theoretical results to be substantially in error.
