Abstract

Energy-transfer efficiencies between Cr3+ and Nd3+ were measured in lithium-lanthanum-phosphate glasses doped by various concentrations of Cr3+ and Nd3+. The transfer efficiencies obtained by decrease of donor lifetimes revealed different behavior from those calculated directly from the increase of Nd3+ luminescence. Optimum conditions are determined for luminescence devices based on these materials.
