Abstract

The conversion of low frequency es fields to em waves by the interaction with a superluminous ionization front was theoretically and experimentally studied. It was observed that the es fields are converted to em radiation at the plasma frequency of the front. In general, results of the study have important practical implications to the generation of radiation in the 0.3-10 TH3 range.
