Abstract

The authors regret that throughout the article the term “kinetic roughening transition” was used instead of “roughening transition”. The transition reported in our work corresponds to the roughening transition of ice observed under near-equilibrium conditions. In the literature, this phenomenon is generally referred to as the roughening transition, whereas the term kinetic roughening transition is typically reserved for roughening phenomena occurring at temperatures below the roughening transition under far-from-equilibrium growth conditions. (Elwenspoek and JP Van der Earden, J. Phys. A: Math Gen. 20 (1987) p. 669, DOI 10.1088/0305-4470/20/3/029). Therefore, all occurrences of “kinetic roughening transition” in the article should be replaced with “roughening transition”. This correction concerns terminology only and does not affect the experimental results, data analysis, interpretation, or conclusions presented in the paper. The authors would like to apologize for any confusion caused.
