Abstract

Research on place attachment from Sociology and Environmental Psychology has shown that duration of residence is not an accurate proxy for strength of place attachment. While the Kibbutz includes different communities (i.e., privileged full members and newcomers with partial membership) with different place attachment sense, the duration of residency variable was found to be of little influence and therefore should not be regarded as a proxy for place attachment. In this corrigendum, we wish to replace the final highlight “Place attachment and monetary compensation have little influence on community acceptance“ with the highlight “Duration of residence and monetary compensation have little influence on community acceptance”. In addition, we make the following changes marked by deletion (strikethrough) in section 8 (discussion, page 59): ”Surprisingly, duration of residency in the community, which is also a proxy for place attachment, and monetary compensation were found the least influential variables for explaining acceptance.”. This Corrigendum does not alter the findings of the article in any way and is being offered only for additional clarity to avoid any terminology misconception.
