Coulomb energies and the anomaly in nuclear matter radii

Abstract

The extra symmetry potential due to isospin impurity is included in single particle calculations of Coulomb displacement energies. When a surface enhancement is included the radii of the potential wells for the neutrons are found to be only very slightly smaller than the corresponding values for the protons.
