Abstract
The properties of critical-point symmetry in a finite system was discussed. The analytic expressions for energies and quadrupole rates which provide good estimates for the observables at the critical point was also derived. However, for a finite system, it was shown that there was an effective deformation which could describe the dynamics at the critical point.
