Abstract
The exact two-parameter solution of Einsteins equations described below represents ingoing and outgoing cylindrical gravitational waves with two degrees of polarization. It has been obtained from the Kerr metric by applying a well-known trick but, unlike the Kerr metric, it has no singularities.
