Abstract

As their name implies, wormlike micelles have two salient features: (1) an elongated, cylindrical shape, and (2) flexibility (i.e., the ability to depart from the optimal curvature). Three structural length scales are pertinent to the flexibility and mobility of these polymer-like aggregates: 1. The cross-sectional radius, r, that is independent of the surfactant concentration. Its value is typically a few nanometers.
