Abstract
The authors examine demographic trends related to the Jewish, Arab and other populations of Israel, as projected through the year 2030 according to various models. Some models predict further erosion of Israel's Jewish majority, the authors note, while others predict that Jewish fertility rates will continue to increase while Arab fertility rates continue to contract. In any scenario, the authors write, policies should pursue a dual agenda of maintaining both Israel's Jewish and its democratic character.
