Abstract

An electrochemical method is utilized for the determination of kinetic acidities of weak acids. The electrogeneration of the dianion of tetraphenylethylene in MeCN and its protonation by weak acids can be easily and quantitatively monitored through cyclic voltammetry. The method is applied to a family of NH acids N-substituted isobutyramides) and some correlations are presented.
