Abstract
Silylation of phosphate and phosphate-containing compounds provides a suitable means for the direct measurement of the 18O content of phosphate compounds. The silylation procedure is described for two model systems: ATP hydrolysis by H218O and 18O transfer from [carboxy-18O] acetic acid to AMP. An evaluation of the suggested procedure is presented.
