Abstract

The results of the faunal analysis of assemblages spanning the Byzantine to Late Islamic
periods fm the site of Bet She'an, Israel are discussed here in relation to the historical record
of the site. The earthquake of 749 AD which appears to have been the most significant agent
of change, confirmed by the faunal assemblage
