Abstract

This paper presents experimental results indicating that the photorefractive (PR) space-charge gratings, formed in the paraelectric phase, induce dipolar gratings that are not erased by direct illumination. The experiments were done using potassium lithium tantalate niobate (KLTN), with a phase transition at Tc = 170 K.
