Abstract

The differences and similarities of the relaxation dynamics of anharmonic oscillator coupled to a spin bath and a harmonic bath were analyzed. The surrogate Hamiltonian approach and the dissipative quantum dynamics were used to compare the spin and harmonic baths. The phase loss between the cat states of the baths was investigated and the results for the harmonic and the spin baths were found to be identical. The results show that in spin bath, the relaxation dynamics generate entanglement between the bath modes.
